- Provide manufacturing support for operations and planners in
the machine shop
- Communicate with counterpart on other shifts
- Know how to operate and set up CNC Mills and Lathes
- Oversee programming activities of upcoming products
- Responsible for maintenance of the fabrication systems.
Coordinate trouble shooting activities with maintenance and
suppliers to resolve issues with mechanized processes
- Support and maintain data collection for trouble shooting, keep
accurate day to day maintenance log of systems.
- Oversee training of techs and operators across all shifts
- Provide cross functional support to other Polaris plantsas
needed
- Design and implement programs and tests for all fabrication
machines
- Assist supervisors in monitoring quality of equipment.
- Lead quality improvement projects within machining to analyze
and interpret best course of action for improvement
- Troubleshoot any machine variances to maintain product
quality.
- Maintain OSHA compliance and corporate safety standards within
the department and company.
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating SOPs and
other process related activities.
- Miscellaneous duties as required
- Understand and implement "Time Studies" in regards to machine
cycle time and cell flow.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers, technicians and operators to
identify and implement improvements in safety, quality, cost, and
delivery.
- Assist manufacturing engineering with the development of new
projects
- Work the manufacturing team to update detail CAD layouts for
equipment and workstation design.SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Prefer individuals with experienceprogramming CNC Mills and
Lathes
- Knowledge of measuring equipment and interpretation of
technical drawings.
- Knowledge in CNC bending machines, laser cutting and tube
forming processes.
- Knowledge in metal mechanical field
- Experience utilizing Windows environment (PC)
- Proactive with ability to work flexible schedules if
necessary
- Associates degree in a technical field with a minimum or two
years of programming experience preferred.
- Knowledge of 2D / 3D design software (Creo, Autocad,
Solidworks)
- Knowledge of Cad / Cam packages ( ArTube, VGP, Mastercam,
surfcam, etc..)WORKING CONDITIONS:
